Doula ; a woman who serves
A doula is a trained professional who empowers, educates, and nurtures mothers and their families from pregnancy to postpartum. While holding space for the birth experience, doula’s provide continuous labor support: emotionally, informationally, and physically. In order to protect birth as a sacred journey, where unconditional love is BORN!
Meet the Doula
Ella Blaise Thompson
Hello, I’m Ella Blaise Thompson, a birth + postpartum doula and lactation support professional serving the San Diego community. For as long as I can remember, I have had a calling to birth work. Since becoming a doula, it has become my passion to support, nurture, empower, and care for families from pregnancy through to postpartum.
My journey into birth work stems from a love for empowerment, education, and providing a nurturing space. My mission is to provide unconditional, uniquely tailored pregnancy, birth, and postpartum support to families as they welcome their newest blessing. In my work, I emphasize an evidence-based approach while meeting mothers and fathers where they need. To provide care for positive, loving, and gentle birth experiences.
After receiving my DONA training years ago, I have worked with dozens of families as they welcome their babies into the world. Since then, I have found a calling in lactation support, which has led me to pursue continuing education as a lactation professional at UCSD Extended Studies.
I look forward to all the BIRTHdays and 4th trimesters I will be blessed to attend and the families I will hold close to my heart.
